Militant issue fresh warning, Tells Northerners to leave Niger Delta

A coalition of Niger Del­ta Agitators and Youth Leaders across the re­gion have given a three months’ notice for North­erners living in the Niger Del­ta states to quite or face their wrath.
The group made this dec­laration yesterday, while reaf­firming their earlier stand that oil blocks owned by Northerners should be returned to the region.
The group leaders include General John Duku (Niger Del­ta Watchdogs), General Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers), General Osarolor Nedam (Ni­ger Delta Warriors), Major- Gen Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters), Major- Gen Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters) , Major-Gen
Ibinabo Horsfall(Niger Delta Movement for Justice), Major-Gen Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network), Ma­jor-Gen. Inibeghe Adams
(Niger Delta Freedom Man­date) and Major-Gen. Ibinabo Tariah (Niger Delta Develop­ment Network).
The agitators said: “As a fol­low up of our previous press re­lease, a joint meeting between the Coalition of Niger Delta Ag­itators and Youth Leaders across the Niger Delta region held to­day in Port Harcourt to review the state of the Nigeria nation, the position of Niger Delta in Nigerian state. After hours of de­liberation, we hereby resolved as follows:
“All Northerners living in Niger Delta have been given three months’ notice to quit the Niger Delta before October 1, 2017.”
“We want to sound this as a warning to all the Northern­ers living in Niger Delta to quit our land before October 1, 2017 as this is not just a threat; after October 1, 2017 any Northern­er found within the Republic of Niger Delta shall be seen as an intruder and shall be treated as such. We also use this oppor­tunity to advise oil & gas com­panies in our territory to shut down further operations; PEN­GASSAN and NUPENG to withdraw their members from Niger Delta before October 1, 2017 or risk their lives. Our next action will surprise you.”
“We still stand by our pre­vious decisions and we demand immediate return of oil blocs owned by Northerners back to the Niger Delta people. All oil & gas companies operating in oil bloc(s)/well(s) illegally owned by Northerners should also va­cate such oil blocs/wells/plat-forms before October 1, 2017.”
“We demand immediate re­location of NNPC Headquarters to Niger Delta and replacement of the Group Managing Direc­tor of NNPC with an indigene of the Niger Delta region. All of­fices/boards/agencies that have anything to do with oil & gas should be relocated immediate­ly to Niger Delta region and all non-Niger Delta Directors/staff replaced with Niger Delta indi­genes.”
The agitators, who made their position public in a let­ter signed by the various lead­ers at the end of their meeting in Port Harcourt, alleged that security agencies were aware of the quit notice to the Eastern­ers by the Arewa youths, stress­ing that they are ready to declare the Sovereign Republic of Niger Delta by October 1, this year.
“We are not surprise by the actions of the Inspector Gen­eral of Police, Department of State Service and even the Army as they were all consulted and were fully aware of the threat by Northern youths before it was is­sued; that is why they are inca­pable of making any arrest.”
“We shall bring to our peo­ple a nation that shall guaran­tee equal opportunity, justice and shall respect the rule of law and uphold the sanctity of hu­man life.

An helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Military has crashed in Damareia subsurb in Yola, AIT reports online. According to the report, the crash happened near a camp built for internally displaced persons in Yola State. As at the time of compiling this report, the Nigerian Army has not released a statement as regards the helicopter crash. Although the cause of the helicopter is still unknown, it was however gathered that the helicopter was on a patrol when the crash happened. This is happening barely five days after some local fishermen reportedly found parts of  Nigeria Air Force’s Alpha Jet (NAF 466) which disappeared on September 12 , during routine operations in the northern part of Adamawa State in the River Benue. FBN Holdings deniel being aware of Otedola’s share acquisitions

Femi Otedola   FBN Holdings Plc has reacted to media reports that billionaire businessman, Mr Femi Otedola, has acquired a significant shareholding in the company.
