SEE THE WORLD'S LARGEST CAPACITY HARD DRIVE - 100TB BY NIMBUS


A month ago there were reports that Samsung was already mass producing a 30TB SSD after that  a 60TB SSD  was announced by Seagate but it has not materialized. A few days ago, Nimbus Data announced an SSD of 100 TB, which breaks the previous storage record.

The Nimbus Data ExaDrive DC100, is already starting to reach customers of the company. Its availability is also very close, as the company has said that it will start to be available in the market. To build this capacity, the company  used NAND 3D MLC memories manufactured by SK Hynix (probably 64 layers, although they haven't confirmed this), as well as being a 3.5-inch unit.

This capacity allows to you store up to 20,000 HD movies, and has sequential read and write speeds of 500 MB/s when using SATA interface, as well as 100,000 IOPS.

The unit uses  up 10 watts at rest and 14 watts in operation, something similar to what a high-performance hard drive consumes

The industry will be using more and more NAND Flash memories




According to the company, in 2017, 40 million 3.5-inch hard drives were sold, totalling 250 million TB. Looking ahead to 2021, 10% of the new storage that is sold will make a transition to SSD with NAND Flash memories

In addition to the 100 TB unit, the company will also market a 50 TB version. Its warranty is 5 years, with a guaranteed durability of at least 2.5 million hours. Its price will not be cheap, and although the company has not announced what it will be, It may not cost below $25,000.

It is surprising  the company has announced that this unit will be available this year , since the South Korean giant Samsung had stated that until the year 2020 we would not have SSD units of 100 TB.

Nimbus just made Samsung eat their own words.

MMM: You can’t eat Nigerians’ money just like that, Nigerians reacts to Mavrodi’s death

Twitter users have taken to the social media platform to air their views on the death of the founder of MMM pyramid scheme, Sergei Mavrodi. Mavrodi reportedly died today of heart attack  at the age of 62. The comment came mostly from Nigerians and people from other parts of the world whose encounter with the Ponzi scheme had been mostly unpalatable. Some of the comments raised questions about the circumstances that surrounded his death, while the majority of the people believed that it was just a clear case of Karma. News broke before noon on Monday that the MMM founder died of heart attack after he was admitted to a Russian hospital.
