Addressing transportation challenges for the students, Gov Zulum provides 300 bicycles for the new technical school

The Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum, has directed the ministry of education to, with immediate effect, recruit fresh graduates as teachers to a newly constructed government technical school in Wuyo, Bayo Local Government Area, to fast track the commencement of academic activities. Also, the Governor provided three hundred bicycles for the students that will be enrolled in the technical school as a way of addressing transportation challenges for the students within the neighbouring communities. This, according to Zulum will not only encourage enrollment but will also motivate the students in learning. At the commissioning of the mega technical school on Wednesday, the governor also announced a free feeding program for students of the school, the first of its kind in the state. Davido Launches Crypto Company, ‘$Echoke' Token'

 Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has finally launched his cryptocurrency company named ‘Echoke Social Token’. He took to his verified Twitter and Instagram pages to make the announcement with his fans and followers. Ganduje: Kano, Lagos States demand 1 per cent in Revenue Allocation Formula

  Gov Abdullah Ganduje of Kano State, says Kano and Lagos States are demanding for 1 per cent in the new nation’s Revenue Allocation Formula.  The demand is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr Abba Anwar, issued on Tuesday in Kano. Anwar said that Ganduje made the case when his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, paid a condolence visit over the death of Aliko Dangote’s brother, Sani Dangote. He quoted Ganduje as saying, “looking at the population size of Kano and Lagos states and other similarities of mega cities, both states demand for 1 per cent in the new nation’s revenue allocation formula. Suspected insane woman drown two children into well

A woman, identified simply as Omowumi, resident on Anjoorin Street, Koledowo community, Osogbo, Osun State, has been arrested by the police following allegations that she threw her two daughters into a well. Efforts by residents, as well as officials of the Osun State Fire Service, on Tuesday, to recover the bodies were futile.  The suspect who recently returned to Nigeria from a country in the Middle-East  was accused of throwing her two daughters into the well and was arrested after by the policemen after the firemen at the scene could not recover the bodies of the deceased. Accountant-General’s office budgets N36m to battle wild animals

 Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, said yesterday that his office proposed N36 million in the 2022 budget to combat antelopes, snakes and other reptiles that trouble them. He also said his office would incur extra charges in the payment of personnel attached to Nigeria’s foreign missions and embassies, which will affect the proposed N410 to  $1  dollar exchange rate by the federal government in the budget to N425 to a dollar.  Idris disclosed this at a budget defence session with the House of Representatives Committee on Finance.  The petrol shortage might emerge as the Private Depots have increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol price to N157 per litre, from N148/litre in different parts of the nation. Sources at the institution said Wumi, a National Diploma 1 student of the Department of Mass Communication, died on Saturday after she took ill in her boyfriend’s house in the Igaa area of Iree town. the deceased suddenly developed complications and was rushed to a private hospital in Iree, but was rejected. The Edo State High court sitting in Benin City has restrained the National Vice Chairman (South-South) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih and the State Secretary of the party, Hilary Otsu from participating in the forthcoming convention of the party scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2021.  Justice Joy Okeaya-Inneh gave the interim injunction, yesterday, in a motion ex-parte filed by Chief Idehen Manfred Ekundayo, Mr. Stanley Iduoze and Odior Omadimhe (Claimants) in the suit marked B/218/os/2021. The court listed Hon. Samuel Saiki, Vincent Ekpomhoriri Umoru, Leslie Ebozoje, David Okoh Aigbodion (also known as Arizona) and Abdulkareem Kassim as Defendants in the suit.
