Fire guts Access Bank in Ondo varsity

A fire outbreak on Monday occurred at the branch of the Access Bank Plc on the campus of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo State. The fire, which started in the earlier hours on Monday was said to have destroyed some offices and the section of the Automated Teller Machine of the bank. It was also gathered that an undisclosed amount of money kept inside the ATMs was destroyed in the inferno. The cause of the fire was unknown as of the time of filing this report but a source said the cause of the fire could be connected to  The eyewitness said, “The fire incident affected the four new ATMs that were just installed at the bank and also some offices were burnt down by the fire. “It took the quick intervention of the men of the fire services department of the university before the situation could be brought under control. For some hours members of staff of the bank were unable to gain access into the bank as they were all outside discussing the incident.” In his

Ortom Must Go – Benue APC lawmakers

All Progressives Congress lawmakers in Benue State House of Assembly who are seeking the removal of Samuel Ortom have listed corruption allegations against the governor, accusing him of misappropriating billions in public funds while state workers groan amidst unpaid salaries. Reports out of Makurdi, the state capital, on Monday morning said eight lawmakers took over the premises, suspended 22 remaining lawmakers and served an impeachment notice on Mr Ortom. The Assembly has 30 members in total. It would take at least two-thirds to impeach the governor. Also, eight members cannot form a quorum, which requires at least one-thirds of the total. But the APC lawmakers, led by Terkimbi Ikyange, who was impeached as speaker last week by at least 22 members of the assembly, said they are capable of impeaching the governor.
